Google recently announced that sites that do not have a SSL certificate will be marked as unsafe from 1 January 2018.

Website visitors will see a warning label which will serve as an indication that there is a security risk with the website they are about to visit.

What is SSL?

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is an integral tool ensuring the security of your information on the internet.

SSL protects your website, and customer information, from hackers and thieves. By encrypting communications, SSL ensures your information is unreadable to everyone except the computer server you are sending the information to.

What does this mean for my website?

Websites running on HTTP instead of HTTPs, or who collect sensitive information such as online forms, are marked as not secure.
123 Online will assist you in becoming SSL certified -  We are currently promoting an offering of a 3 year SSL certificate for the price of one.

If you would like to discuss SSL, feel free to contact our support team on 0800 891 123 x2 or support@123online.co.nz
