Large Images Automatically Resized
February 28, 2012 at 10:25 AM
When you insert a large image into a content area in Shift, the image is now resized. This is to avoid the problem of clients accidentally uploading massive images on their pages.
As you're probably aware, when you take a picture with a digital camera, the filesize is huge, as is the image. When you try and insert that image into a website, the result is a huge image that takes up the entire page. This was causing some clients some frustration.
Of course, clients have always been able to resize images. With really large images however, it mean constantly clicking and dragging dogears of the images. If you didn't know the pixel width to shrink it to, it could take up to a minute to scale back the image to an appropriate size.
The latest update solves this problem. As a result, support isn't getting questions on this anymore, and clients are happier.
